IRSOIL&WATER 2026 & ERA WORKSHOP
Event Details
ASSORADON and AIRP are reviving an important event, now in its sixth year, in the wake of the growing interest in natural radioactivity: IRSOIL&WATER 2026.
The conference, held this year in the historic city of Bergamo, will host the European Radon Association’s (ERA) annual workshop on the first day, for the first time in Italy, with presentations on topics of international relevance.
On June 17th, field measurement exercises, will follow with assessments of radon concentrations in soil and water matrices and, for the first time, gamma spectrometry, also aimed at assessing radon risk.
The experience of this inter-comparison responds to the need for laboratories and professionals to discuss measurement techniques and assessment approaches, widely used by industry.
Finally, the technical/scientific conference will take place on June 18th and 19th. The aim is to address local specificities and, at the same time, consolidate the approach to the radon problem on a national scale.
ASSORADON and AIRP aim to increasingly expand the audience of participants, highlighting how a multi-disciplinary approach is an essential aspect of addressing radon issues. In this regard, the conference will also focus on epidemiological aspects related to radon.
MAIN TOPICS
WORKSHOP ERA
- State-of-the-art radon measurement techniques in air, water and soil
IRSOIL
- Regulatory aspects, with the support of national and regional public bodies
- Remedial actions carried out in the area and practical cases
- Geological aspects
Radon links to health issues
