Craftsmen are directly concerned by safety issues, not only because they are responsible for their employees, but also because they work alongside them. This proximity explains why the head of a craft business is very concerned about the safety and well-being of his employees.
Air quality is an issue that affects our living environments, both professional and personal. That’s why, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (France), the CAPEB is committed to this important social issue. On the occasion of European Radon Day on November 7, the CAPEB will be focusing on this subject, which is little-known to the general public, through a number of actions. Eco-construction 5 à 7 at the Guilherand-Granges Chamber of Crafts and Trades (Ardèche).

The CAPEB Ardèche is a partner of the 5 à 7 de l'éco construction, which is organizing a round-table discussion on the theme of “Indoor air quality and radon: what is it? what can be done?”, on Thursday November 7, from 4:45 to 7:30 pm, on the premises of the CMA in Guilherand-Granges. Jean-Noël Antoine, from CAPEB Isère and head of Volthelios / Action-Radon.fr, a company specializing in risk management for energy and air quality, will also be taking part and sharing his
experience. On the program: a reminder of the health stakes and the new regulations, how to take action, feedback on air quality in a school, a presentation of equipment and measurements of air quality and radon, presentation of the practical sheet “Prevention questions from the Plan Régional Santé au Travail: radon, am I concerned?” and the network of radon referents in occupational health services.

The Laboratory of Radiometric Expertise Institute of Nuclear Physics PAN (LER IFJ PAN, Kraków) together with GEN Science Centre (Jasło)  organised European Radon Day in Jasło.

The same day we also celebrated the International Day of Medical Physics.

The scientists from IFJ PAN gave lectures on radon and presented meters and methods for measuring radon concentrations in buildings, in ground air and in water. The meeting was attended by pupils and seniors (including students of the Jasło University of the Third Age).

The culmination of the Jasło celebrations of the European Radon Day and the International Day of Medical Physics was a lecture by Professor Krzysztof Kozak entitled “The Benevolent Atom in the Service of Medicine”.
