  • Announcement of the 14th BfS Interlaboratory Comparison of Passive Radon Detectors 2017
The German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) announces that an interlaboratory comparison will be conducted for passive radon measurement devices using track-etch detectors in diffusion chambers or electret ionisation chambers in order to assure the quality of radon measurements. The comparison is scheduled for the 1st quarter 2017. Laboratories which possess or wish to acquire an accreditation for measuring the activity concentration of radon-222 fulfil the obligation to validate their measuring method in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17025 by participating in the intercomparison. For more information on implementation and detailed schedule please visit the websitehttp://www.bfs.de/EN/topics/ion/service/radon-measurement/comparative-test/comparative-test.htmlwhere you can also download the registration form. Laboratories which want to take part in the Interlaboratory Comparison of Passive Radon Detectors are kindly requested to register for participation using the registration form by January 16, 2017 at the latest.
